Day 01
Arrival - Negombo - Pre-Safari Briefing

Airport arrival and Negombo first night, with an evening briefing from your Darash Lanka Tours specialist on the wildlife landscape ahead – the three parks, the leopard behaviour patterns, the optimal timing for each habitat, and the photographic conditions to plan around.

Day 02
Wilpattu National Park - Arrival & First Safari

The drive to Wilpattu’s wilderness lodge setting – deeper forest, more solitude, and the natural lake basins that give this park its particular character. A late afternoon safari to begin establishing the landscape and the wildlife it contains.

Day 03
Wilpattu Full-Day Safari - Leopard Tracking & Birding

A full day in Wilpattu with an experienced tracker – morning and afternoon safaris bracketing a midday rest, maximising the prime wildlife activity hours and giving the depth of coverage that the single-afternoon visitor cannot achieve. Wilpattu’s low visitor numbers and dense habitat make patient, focused tracking the right approach.

Day 04
Sigiriya Region - Cultural Triangle Wildlife Corridor

The drive to Sigiriya through the dry zone wildlife corridor that connects Wilpattu to the Cultural Triangle – a landscape of elephant country and birdlife that rewards a slow, attentive drive. An afternoon in the ancient reservoir landscape around Sigiriya adds a landscape photography dimension.

Day 05
Sigiriya Rock Fortress for Sunrise Photography & Minneriya Safari

A dawn ascent of Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the best photographic light of the day – the monolith emerging from the forest mist below, the ancient landscape lit in the first warm directional light. An afternoon safari in Minneriya National Park for the elephant herds and waterbird concentrations of the open tank.

Day 06
Drive South - Yala Wildlife Zone Arrival

The scenic drive south through the changing ecosystems from Cultural Triangle dry zone to Yala’s coastal scrub and lagoon country – a landscape photography journey through four distinct habitat types in a single afternoon’s drive.

Day 07
Yala National Park - Full-Day Safari

A full day in Yala with an experienced leopard tracker – the world’s highest leopard density, the most varied habitats of any Sri Lankan park, and the combination of coastal, scrub, and lagoon ecosystems that makes Yala the most photogenic safari destination in Sri Lanka by a significant margin.

Day 08
South Coast - Coastal Wildlife & Rest Day

An arrival on the south coast for a day that balances coastal wildlife (turtle hatchery, optional morning whale watching) with genuine rest after the intensity of three parks in six days.

Day 09
Leisure & Optional Activities - South Coast

A final full day at the traveller’s pace – optional activities, photography editing time, or simply the pleasure of a south coast beach after the concentrated wildlife days.

Day 10
Colombo & Airport Departure

Southern Expressway transfer to Colombo Airport.
