Day 01
Arrival - The Wallawwa, Negombo

Your Darash Lanka Tours representative meets you at the airport for a short private transfer to The Wallawwa – a beautifully restored colonial boutique property set within expansive tropical gardens that sets the tone for what follows without overdoing it. An evening by the pool or a stroll through the garden grounds is the right first note for the journey.

Day 02
Cultural Triangle Drive - Heritance Kandalama, Dambulla

The scenic drive to the Cultural Triangle delivers you to Heritance Kandalama – Geoffrey Bawa’s extraordinary cliff-integrated hotel above a forest-surrounded reservoir that is, by itself, one of the architectural experiences of Sri Lanka. The building is the destination as much as anything around it. An evening overlooking the lake as the forest birds settle for the night.

Day 03
Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Minneriya Safari - Heritance Kandalama

A dawn ascent of Sigiriya Rock Fortress with a guided interpretation of its frescoes, mirror wall, and ancient urban planning, returning for a late breakfast with lake views before an afternoon safari in Minneriya National Park. The seasonal Elephant Gathering delivers one of the great wildlife spectacles available at any price point, anywhere.

Day 04
Matale Spice Garden & Kandy - Kings Pavilion

The drive to Kandy via Matale’s spice country – a private guided spice garden experience that introduces the raw heritage of Sri Lankan cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine – then a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic before the evening at Kings Pavilion’s refined hilltop setting above the city.

Day 05
Tea Country Highlands - Ceylon Tea Trails, Hatton

The highland drive from Kandy to Hatton through Sri Lanka’s continuous plantation landscape delivers you to Ceylon Tea Trails – the most celebrated accommodation experience in the Sri Lankan highlands, a collection of restored colonial planter’s bungalows set among the Bogawantalawa estates. An afternoon estate walk and guided tasting. An evening fireside dinner overlooking the Castlereagh reservoir.

Day 06
Leisure Day at Tea Trails - Plantation, Picnic & Privacy

A full day in the tea country at exactly the pace that tea country invites – optional plantation walk in the morning mist, a private picnic by the reservoir, spa treatments, or simply the extraordinary luxury of doing nothing in a genuinely extraordinary setting.

Day 07
Scenic Hill Train to Ella - 98 Acres Resort & Spa

Reserved seating on the celebrated hill country train through the most beautiful railway landscape in Asia, arriving in Ella for the afternoon. 98 Acres Resort & Spa sits above the Ella valley with tea garden views in every direction – the Highland chapter’s most perfectly positioned property.

Day 08
Little Adam's Peak & Yala Drive - Chena Huts by Uga

A morning hike to Little Adam’s Peak for the Ella Gap panorama before the scenic drive south through the landscape transition from highland to Yala’s coastal scrub. Chena Huts by Uga – the finest wilderness lodge in Yala, with private plunge pools and a tented setting of exceptional character – provides an afternoon safari during the golden hour.

Day 09
Galle Fort - Amangalla Colonial Heritage

The coastal drive west through the southern scenery to Galle and Amangalla – a magnificently restored colonial property within the Fort itself, in a building that served as the original New Oriental Hotel from 1865. An afternoon exploring the Fort’s architecture and courtyards from the inside, as a guest of one of its finest properties.

Day 10
Cape Weligama - Clifftop Ocean Luxury

The short coastal transfer to Cape Weligama’s dramatic headland above the Indian Ocean – private villas, infinity pools, and the particular luxury of a property where the view from the bathroom is as good as the view from the terrace. An afternoon at complete leisure above the sea.

Day 11
Weligama Leisure - Optional Whale Watching or Spa

A full day at Cape Weligama’s pace – optional pre-dawn whale watching excursion from nearby Mirissa (seasonal), spa treatments, private dining, or the simple and entirely justifiable pleasure of spending a day by a clifftop infinity pool looking at the Indian Ocean.
